Study and training per dual studies: “Logistics management”
In the dual studies programme “Logistics management”, Emons, in cooperation with the European University of Applied Sciences (EUFH) in Brühl, has, since the year 2003, been offering the “Long-term traineeship model” (Langzeitpraktikum). Here, study is combined with regular on-the-job practice phases, leading finally to a “Bachelor of Arts” (BA). Starting in the summer semester 2011, there is also an “Education and training model” (Modell Ausbildung) on offer, in which study and internship are tackled in parallel. This enables students to take both the exam for Bachelor and the exam for Forwarding / Logistics Services Provider Agent (Kaufmann/-frau für Spedition und Logistikdienstleistung) of the Chamber of Commerce (IHK).

Best “Azubi” 2011: Emons Spedition for the fourth time in a row among the Top Ten of the best companies in the German logistics sector taking trainees
In the Germany-wide knowledge test for apprentices and trainees (“Azubis”) to qualify as Forwarding / Logistics Services Provider Agent, Emons was able, for the fourth time in a row, to capture a Top Ten place in slot eight among companies taking trainees. This underscores the high quality of Emons’ training. The knowledge contest mounted by the initiators VerkehrsRundschau and Schunck Group was launched in 2007 and is an annual event.

Emons receives award for promoting young talent
In Cologne’s Historical City Hall on 23.05.2011, Emons Spedition was awarded the Certificate for Promoting Young Talents 2010/2011 in recognition of its “outstanding commitment to training”. The award by the Cologne Employment Agency (Arbeitsagentur Köln) and the City of Cologne is in appreciation of “continuous and very high-quality training”. On hand were Chief Mayor Jürgen Roters, Agency boss Peter Welters and the Chairman of the executive committee of the Cologne Employment Agency, Dr. Witich Roßmann. The award was accepted by Emons head of training Christiane Bauer and by Wilhelm Könntgen, managing director at Emons Spedition.

Current developments in the training situation at Emons Spedition
At present, 250 trainees are engaged in training at Emons nation-wide. As of the new training year, some 130 have been added, again nation-wide. Even before the start of their training, the junior staff became members of the “Emons Family”: pre-training information meetings and the availability of sponsorships help them integrate quickly into the undertaking. Deployment in all departments, additional internal and external instruction by experienced speakers and the possibility of being assigned to all locations, nationally and internationally, turn the trainees into competent specialists.

Emons Spedition offers training in the following training occupations: forwarding / logistics services provider agent, warehouse logistics specialist, warehouse specialist and professional drivers. In particular demand are professional driver trainees.
