This year, too, Emons extended an invitation to attend TransRussia 2006

28.04.2006 – Emons was represented again this year at TransRussia, the biggest international transport and logistics exhibition and conference for Russia and its neighbours.

The importance of the event is underscored by the official promotion it receives. Both the Russian transport ministry and the Russian railway corporation support the event, as does the Federal Republic of Germany. The 11th TransRussia was held in the Olympiysky Sport Complex, Moscow, from 20 to 23 March.

Since the first TransRussia in 1996, exhibitor and visitor totals have steadily risen, and the event now acts as a veritable magnet, regularly attracting a large number of trade visitors. Last year, on the show’s tenth anniversary, it was already attended by over 14,000 knowledgeable guests.

This year, too, around 14,000 trade visitors thronged again to the event and were able to contact more than 350 companies from 20 countries. Representatives of sea, air, land and railway transport companies, forwarding firms, logistics service providers, warehouse keepers and e-commerce/e-logistics firms were on hand to demonstrate their products and solutions.

Some 40 exhibitors from Germany’s transport sector were represented this year, all keen to create dependable logistics structures in the area of the former Soviet Union, where rail transport is much more strongly developed than road traffic.

Emons successfully used this opportunity to hold numerous talks with company representatives from all over the world in order to extend existing links and forge new business contacts. The success of these exchanges is reflected in the large number of transport enquiries received and concrete orders placed.

In 2002 already, Emons was represented in Eastern Europe with companies of its own. Today, Emons has bases in Kiev, Minsk, Moscow, Smolensk and St. Petersburg. By now, Emons trucks head for Moscow from Germany on a daily basis, and for Minsk and Kiev several times a week. In RoRo ferry traffic on the Baltic Sea, Emons Multitransport, with bases in Hamburg and St. Petersburg, has a fleet of 140 trailers.

This year, more companies will be joining the network, entering more national markets and helping tackle the steadily growing transport volumes.
