Emons boosts activities in Greece
14.12.2007 - Emons Spedition has been offering scheduled traffic services to and from Greece since September 2007. The new Greek service was made possible by extending the cooperation with "Supertrans SA", an efficient local logistics company.

Border controls for new EU countries abolished
14.12.2007 - Within the scope of the Schengen Agreement, controls on the borders with Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta and Slovakia were abolished on 21.12.2007.



Higher toll for trucks as from 1 September 2007
23.08.2007 - With effect from 1 September 2007, the German government is increasing the toll rates charged for German motorways. The average toll will increase 1.1 cent per kilometre to 13.5 cents per kilometre. Depending on the pollutant class and number of axles, this will result in a toll of up to 15.5 cent per kilometre driven on long-distance toll roads.

19.07.2007 - Having consistently expanded our activities in the Czech Republic, setting up four branches in the cities of Chomutov, Děčín, Pilsen and Sokolov and establishing strategic partnerships with major local logistics service providers, Emons now offers a region-wide 48-hour service with daily departures and – on demand – a 24-hour service (plus transit time) for the Czech Republic.



International, integrated networks of medium-sized logistics companies - Emons points the way!
23.05.2007 - Germany´s logistics sector is in good shape. According to estimates in the study "Top 100 in logistics 2006", over 2.5 million people with 2 million vehicles generated sales growth of 5%, compared with the previous year, and sales revenue of € 180 bn. The contribution made by commercial logistics service providers amounted to slightly less than half the sector´s revenue.



Emons Spedition Stuttgart opens logistics depot
23.05.2007 - Emons´ Stuttgart-based branch opened a logistics depot in Kornwestheim on 1 April. This move became necessary on account of the successive expansion of our existing logistics business. A new project was started in March already.



Emons Rail Cargo - an environment- and cost-aware combined-transport concept
23.05.2007 - At Emons, environment is writ large as an issue in both national and international partial and full loads. In 1969 already, Emons became a founding member of Kombiverkehr GmbH & Co. KG, so that the company was backing low-impact transport systems early on.



TransRussia 2007 - Emons on hand again
23.05.2007 - This year, too, 50 German logistics companies were present at the 12th TransRussia held in Moscow from 27 to 30 March. A total of 415 sector representatives attended the biggest international transport and logistics fair for Russia and its neighbours, displaying their solutions to 15,000 trade visitors.



Austria: Motorway toll increases for trucks
23.05.2007 - Austrian Chancellor Alfred Gusenbauer and Transport Minister Werner Faymann have announced a toll increase averaging €ct 22.7 to €ct 26.9 per kilometre, according to a report by VerkehrsRundschau dated 22.05.2007. With a view to lowering the resulting burden, road tax is to be halved, it was said.



Emons takes over ABX Logistics´ Karlsruhe location
10.10.2006 - With effect from 1 September 2006, Emons Spedition took over the Karlsruhe branch of ABX Logistics GmbH. All business activities at the Karlsruhe facility are now being continued by Emons.



Emons Spedition successfully concludes certification and assessment
10.10.2006 - The management system of Emons Cologne was externally audited in August 2006 pursuant to the criteria of DIN EN ISO 9001:2000, 14001:2004 and SQAS (module: Transport Service). The first-time certification in the area of quality and environmental management systems and the assessment under the SQAS module Transport Service were successfully concluded.



With Emons´ new product Europa EXPRESS at your destination in 24 hours
10.10.2006 - Until now, Emons Spedition has been offering the national products Roter Punkt (red dot), Fixpunkt (fixed date), Samstagszustellung (Saturday deliveries) and also 12-Uhr- (12 o´clock), 10-Uhr- (10 o´clock) and 8-Uhr- (8 o´clock) Express. With the launch of the product Europa EXPRESS, the service portfolio has been extended to include the European area. Associated with this, Emons promises a run-time of 24 hours plus transit time and immediate pro-active information for the customer in the event of any irregularities in the transport chain.



Customs: AES link-up successfully launched at Emons Spedition
10.10.2006 - As of 1 September 2006 already, Emons linked its IT system to the automated export system (AES) of Germany´s customs authorities and is also offering its customers AES for export consignments via the familiar ATLAS application throughout Germany.



Price increase at Emons accompanied by quality increase
10.10.2006 - According to the updated VerkehrsRundschau price index, a rise in transport prices in Germany´s road-bound traffic must be assumed. Thus, 57% of the 120 polled logistics-service providers and shippers are reckoning with a price increase in coming months. Today already, price rises can be noted in the part-load segment, followed by the pallet and full-load business fields.



New Nordic concept: Emons and Swedish Post Office subsidiary HIT join forces
24.08.2006 - Emons Spedition has been cooperating since May 2006 with the Swedish Post Office subsidiary HIT Sverige, thus gaining direct access to one of the largest Nordic networks. Daily system traffic to Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden as well make for reduced transport times to Nordic destinations and mean greater flexibility for customers. This cooperation enables Emons to expand its business activities in the Nordic region.



Definite order increase at Emons Spedition
24.08.2006 - The growth sector logistics has evolved into Germany’s third largest line of business after trade and the automotive industry. The logistics sector reports above-average rises in order intake and sales revenue. Emons has participated in this growth and – taking an average of the most recent months relative to the same period of last year – has posted an over 20% increase in orders. With a view to stabilizing the familiar high quality standards in such quantity rises, Emons Spedition has responded with a comprehensive programme of capacity expansions.



Training initiative: Emons is at it again!
24.08.2006 - This year, Emons is again supporting the German government’s training initiative "fit for work". In view of the strained situation for training places in Germany, Emons is expanding its apprenticeship capacities and adding 15% training places on offer.



Become a logistics manager (FH) with Emons Spedition
24.08.2006 - Since 2003, Emons has been working together with the European University of Applied Sciences (EUFH) at Bruehl. The EUFH is a state-recognized private university whose business courses lead to an internationally recognized degree in business economics (Diplom-Kaufmann/Kauffrau (FH)) with specialization in logistics management.



Emons supports Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW)
24.08.2006 - For the THW´s summer fête on the fairground at Rudolstadt on 2 June 2006, Emons, as in previous years, made a free loan of a converted swap body to serve as a stage. Over 3,000 visitors attended the event.



Villingen: Emons takes over Kochtransport
28.04.2006 - On 1 February 2006, Emons Spedition GmbH took over the insolvent company Kochtransport GmbH and extended its forwarding and logistics base in Villingen.



Emons goes East - Eastern enlargement, Emons style
28.04.2006 - In addition to companies of its own in the Eastern European area, Emons is now setting up its first Russian transport company with its own equipment in Smolensk.

Schwarzwald-Express - Netherlands in 24 hours
28.04.2006 - From the Black Forest economic region, Emons, with bases in Freiburg und VS-Villingen, has been offering a 24-hour delivery service to the economic areas of The Netherlands since March 2006.

28.04.2006 - Emons has nine daily direct traffic links between Germany´s economic centres and Austria´s economic regions – from Lower Austria, via Upper Austria and Styria, Carinthia, Salzburg, Tyrol, all the way to Vorarlberg (and back again).



Big family party for the opening of a new Emons location in Cologne
23.09.2005 - Over 1,000 people attended the opening ceremony for the new building of the Emons branch establishment at Cologne-Gremberghoven on 10 September 2005. "We are delighted that so many customers and partners with their families have found their way to us," said head of the branch, Harald Klöckner.



A roof for the Pope: Emons Spedition transports cloud roof for World Youth Day
01.08.2005 - When Pope Benedict XVI on 20 and 21 August welcomes the youth of the world assembled in Cologne, this will be done under a cloud roof which the international logistics service provider Emons Spedition has loaded in Castelnuovo Scrivia, located 100 kilometres south of Milan, and delivered to Marienfeld near Kerpen.
