To Poland in 48 hours – thanks to Emons

With the expansion of its Poland business Emons participates in the country’s dynamic economic growth. With its own companies, equipment and strategic partnerships, Emons is expanding, aligning and consolidating its three logistics networks in Germany, Europe and eastern Europe.

Since 1990 Poland’s economy has seen a fast-paced development and is still changing profoundly, adapting to the existing EU-15 Member States. Hence, the services sector currently accounts for over 50%, industry for 24%, construction for 7% and agriculture for 3% of gross value added.

In 2006 the gross domestic product (GDP) went up 5.2%, and for 2007 growth of approx. 5% is expected. With a 2006 inflation rate of approx. 1.5 % Poland is one of the countries with the most stable prices in the EU. According to information from the Federal Foreign Office, Poland’s major economic sectors are the food industry, energy, mining and the iron and steel industry, followed by machine engineering, electrical engineering/electronics, vehicle manufacturing, and the textiles and clothing industry. Moreover, the computer industry (hardware and software) and the services sector are gaining importance.

Like GDP, the Polish export industry also saw a dynamic development in 2006, and the foreign trade deficit went down yet again. As the following diagram shows, the EU Member States are Poland’s main trade partners:
